    Trip Cancelled Forecast is for very heavy rain coupled with F5 -F7 winds from the South then West Apparently the trip today (Sunday) did not get a bore wave. Arnside bore 1. HW Barrow is at 12.25 so aim to be on the water at Arnside at 08:55 Should be back in Arnside by 11.15 There is the option to join up with Mike's Estuary trip and carry on with the tide past Arnside returning with the ebbing tide. If you want to do this please also sign up to that that trip and note that you should be in a sea kayak, bring lunch. River or sea kayaks. If intending to ride bore wave must have a solid first time roll. You can join us and just follow the bore wave if you don't wish to surf on it Not suitable for novices. Trips may be cancelled or rearranged at short notice depending upon weather, and the preferences of those paddling. 6. To avoid a wasted journey, please ensure the trip coordinator knows you plan to attend, and has your mobile number. 7. Coordinator Sten Sture I am very happy to co-ordinate this trip, choose a river, set up put ins and take outs, but I will not be the leader. Just to emphasise this is not a "formal LCC trip".     We will stick with plan A below. Duddon was at 0.66 at 07:00. I anticipate that the Duddon will be low but runnable in the morning so plan to meet as detailed below. Venue : Water permitting Lower Duddon, Crake or similar 5. Meet to share lift. 09:45 Layby at Duddon Bridge at the end of the road up the Duddon valley on the East side of the river 6. Anything else: Emma and Sten are going for a quick blast on a river local to Furness. First choice is the lower Duddon from Ulpha to Duddon Bridge, water permitting.   13. I have woken up with a cold as well this morning. Sorry but I am going to give paddling a miss this weekend.
  14. Sten and Emma are planning to go for a confidence building River Paddle. Weather forecast is for showers, if there is sufficient water the plan is to paddle the Rothay from Grasmere to Ambleside, (meeting at ambleside Rugby Club car park otherwise a park and play session on the Lune at Killington New Bridge. Meeting at 10:00. I will make a decision and post here and on the LCC River Kayaking WhatsApp group 08:00 Saturday morning. Little if any rain overnight. We will meet at Killington Bridge for a Park and Play on the Lune. With the option of running a short section at the end. Meet at 10:00
  15. I can do Saturday and / or Sunday. Plenty of rain forecast Saturday night and Sunday morning. So postponement probably makes sense, if people can do Sunday. If that is the case anybody for a quick Leven trip tomorrow?. Plenty of water in there.

    Level is very low and I am not keen on going for a scrape. I will be taking a sea kayak on Coniston instead. If anybody is interested.. Meet at Brown Howe 18:30
  21. I have just pre registered. Brian and I are planning to meet at J36 to share a lift. Rob and Mark do you want to meet us at the river? I am hoping to demo some different boats while I am there.

    Sten and Angela are going out for a Sea kayak rescue practice session. If anybody would like to join us we are planning to go the East side of Coniston Water. Parking at Machell Coppice car park SD310952, aiming to get there at 10:00. No obligation to get wet if you want to just come along and be sociable we will provide the entertainment.
  23. Short notice trip.Angla and Sten are planning to paddle from Jubilee Bridge to the South end of Walney Island and back. Setting off from Ferry Pitchings (the slipway 100m north of the bridge) at 10:00. Stopping for a picnic on Piel Island back at the car around 14:30 - 15:00. Suitable for sea and touring kayaks. Light westerly winds 11C Sunny all day. Low water 12:31
  24. I will dust off my Schlegel paddle, but I won't be using it. The gear in the good old days was not always so good.
