Venue : Eden from Armathwaite to Wetherall - "A lovely and much neglected section of river through beautiful countryside with the occasional straightforward rapid to add interest" 5. Meet location / time : Meet at the Fox and Pheasant Inn, east side of Armathwaite Bridge (CA4 9PY). 10.15 am ready to shuttle. 6. Meet to share lifts at : No lift share due to Covid-19. 7. Lots of rain forecast for Tuesday so hopefully some left on Wednesday There is a webcam at Bainbridge. Need to be flowing across river width with no rocks showing. https://www.farsondigitalwatercams.com/locations/bainbridge-yorebridge trip will go ahead if river level is suitable, enough water but not spate. We may start at Appersett which makes the paddle 17km or at Hawes which makes 14km Paddle so paddle time will be about 4 hours. Drive time form Kendal is about 1hour 10 minutes to egress. River is grade 1 or 2 with rocks to avoid in places, so some experience of moving water skills is expected.   12. PEER trip TRIP Cancelled The wind forecast is for force 4 gusting 6 from the west maybe deceasing slightly later. Wave height 0.7m from west. Since the trip involves exposed water and paddling S, SW then W it will be a less enjoyable experience, than with less wind. I will reorganise for a spring tide in September. Sunday 16th.     be covid aware Cancelled due to covid regulations in Scotland trip now going to Devon Peer trip The now annual river paddling trip to explore the rivers of Sutherland and surroundings. Paddling rivers grade 3/4. Staying in Lairg in cottage. Trip was advertised in LCC Newsletter in January. Trip now full, but can have a reserve list in event of fallout. Anything else: Plan will be to drive up Early Friday morning and set up a shuttle. Then paddle river and camp overnight. Depending upon water levels we can carry on down Tweed or move to a second river. Details TBC Trip aimed at open canoe, with some moving water experience. Kayaks are welcome on basis that you kit may be carried in open boat if there is space available, or carry own kit in your kayak. RSVP by end of March at latest.
