  8. All boast welcome. ( HW 8.91 m at 15.44) The long trip meet 12.30 p.m. ready to paddle by 12.45 from Arnside promenade. We will paddle out from Arnside towards Grange over sands and back with the incoming tide( no bore wave expected). We will then meet the shorter trip which will leave at 14.45 from Arnside promenade. We will paddle under the viaduct and explore the upper estuary returning to Arnside by 17.00 Afterwards a social event venue TBC we will chat about club trips this year and what trips members wold like for next year. Please bring a paddling friend who is not a member, whom might be interested in joining us. add you name to the list by RSVP if you intend to come along.   9. Please be advised that most paddlers are intending to paddle in sea kayaks LCC club paddle to welcome potential members. Location River Kent estuary - selected as water guarenteed HW 15.44 8.91m Meet Arnside promenade Long trip meet 12.45 ready to set of by 13.00 we will paddle down the estuary, with the flow towards Grange over sands. Water will be moving but flat. Waves will depend on wind speed. We will meet the incoming tide to bring us back to Arnisde by about 14.30. short trip meet 14.00 ready to set of by 14.30 we will paddle up the estuary under the viaduct , with the flow towards Sandside. Water will be moving but flat. Waves will depend on wind speed. We will explore the upper estuary returning to Arnisde by about 17.00. Short rest on sand bank Off Morecambe. Then pick up the incoming tide up to Arnside for about midday. Experienced sea kayakers only, in sea kayaks. paddle time 6-7 hours please add name to list if you are intending to paddle on this trip

  14. 1. Social paddle - Kent Estuary 2. Saturday 18th April 3. Starting from Arside promenade 4. Meet 8.00 a.m. ready to be on water by 8.00a.m. Estimated trip duration 2-3 hours on the water. 5. Trip leader: Mike Hayward 6. Any special notes: Tidal height is 10.00m with HW at 11.41. all boats welcome. We will paddle outinto Morecambe bay, ( downstream) then be brought back by incoming tide ( downstream) bore wave is expected. Depending on channel depths you may need to drag your boats for a short distance if channel are shallow. We will paddle out into the bay and meet the bore wave. Very good chance of getting a surfable wave. We will finish back at Arnside at 11.15 approximately. Those intending to ride the bore wave wave should be confident in their roll. Otherwise be prepared to sit behind the wave and follow it in. Not suitable for novices. If conditions are suiatble we may continue up the Estuary which will mean a later finish

  16. THIS TRIP IS NOW CANCELLED DUE TO HIGH WIND FORECAST 1. Sea kayak trip - Ulverston to Arnside via Morecambe Bay 2. Starting point Canal foot Ulverston 4. Meeting at Canal foot Ulverston 5. Trip leader: Mike Hayward 6. Any special notes: A trip in sea kayaks only those with experienced of multi hour travel at sea. We will leave Canal foot around 7.00 a.m.and paddle down Leven Estuary until we meet 'the bay''. Then heading towards Heysham then Morecambe on the flooding tide, before turning up Kent Estuary, reaching Arnside before High water at 15.27. Distance a long way miles so paddle time will be 6-8 hours The unknowns are the channel locations in the estuaries and the time of the turn - though it should be around LW Morecambe bout 9.40 a.m. We did this trip last year it was a cracker with us catching a bore wave into Arnside.

Plan is to travel North of Inverness and paddle grade 2/3/4 rivers- dependent on water levels. a list of possible rivers will be decided by those joining the trip We will need to book accommodation so realistically need a team confirming by end of July. Add you name to RSVP on right if you are interested 4 -6 would be a good number to share transport. (To date 5/5/15 I have three names showing interest.)   20. 8th Ravenglass Seaquest: Sunday 15 June 2014 The weather was good to us this year and a super day was had by all! We have put in an order for the same again in 2015. Ravenglass Seaquest is a navigation event on the three beautiful estuaries at Ravenglass. Competitors, in kayaks or canoes, teams or solo, visit as many control points as they can in the time limit of 3 hours. Just like orienteering! Only on water... An event for everyone, take your time and enjoy lunch alongside the Esk, or set yourself a challenge and join the competitive racers.
