Coastal day trips in Anglesey. Possible trips are Rhoscolyn bay and shorelines with some rock hopping, Four mile bridge to Rhoscolyn bay, the Menai straits, Cemaes Bay and Cemlyn Bay, maybe even Puffin Island. One day of this trip will be mine and Duncan's Sea Kayak Leader Assessment with Nick Cunliffe. We need 3 other paddlers for the assessment, so please only sign up if you are certain of coming. You'll need to arrange your own accommodation. I'll be planning to stop at Anglesey Outdoors in the van. Another good option for campers is Outdoor Alternative. 1. Event co-ordinator: Simon Lerpiniere (07811144461) 2. Trip Leader leader: Simon Lerpiniere & Duncan Goulder 3. Trip type: Sea 4. Level of ability : Improver. See details on the club site here. 5. Date: 27/09/24 - 29/09/24 6. Venue: Anglesey 7. Meet location / time: Meeting point for each day to be confirmed each morning by 9am. We will likely meet up either the night before or that morning to coordinate. 8. Meet to share lifts at: Arrange your own 9. Anything else: If you've not paddled with me before, I'll be in touch on WhatsApp before the trip. If you're not sure this trip is for you, feel free to drop me a message or phone call. Please read notes re trips here: https://lakelandcanoeclub.wordpress.com/trips/ Please ensure you carry the correct kit for the trip you are attending. RSVP by latest 23/09/24. Accomodation: Anglesey Outdoors has no availability due to a school booking Wednesday/Thursday. Outdoor Alternative still has availability for the whole stay, or can book a couple of nights there and the others at Anglesey Outdoors. I'm booked Weds/Thurs at Outdoor Alternative and Friday/Sat at Anglesey Outdoors. Coastal day trips in Anglesey. We'll be doing some towing (incl. toggle tows, contact tows, short tows), assisted rescue and self rescue techniques. Water shouldn't be too cold, and we'll find a good spot out of the wind. 1. Event co-ordinator: Simon Lerpiniere (07811144461) 2. Trip Leader leader: Simon Lerpiniere 3. Trip type: Lake (but with Sea focus) 4. Level of ability : Improver 5. Date: 17/05/24 6. Advanced White Water kayak trip to Fort William area. This trip is planned around the dam release dates as published on the Dam Release Calendar. If we've got decent rainfall, we'll be looking at the smaller tributaries and becks, otherwise we'll be on the dam release rivers. Planning to head to the Garry Thursday, then the Falls of Lora Friday (amazing play spot on the sea for WW boats!), Garry + Moriston Saturday, Middle Etive Sunday (on route home). 1. Event co-ordinator: Simon Lerpiniere (07811144461) 2. Trip Leader leader: Simon Lerpiniere (plus likely other leaders in attendance) 3. Trip type: River 4. Level of ability : Advanced 5. Date: 22/08/2024 until 25/08/2024 6. Venue: Fort William, Scotland. 7. Meet location / time: Travelling up to the Garry early Thursday morning. We'll certainly want to arrange lift shares, so probably a meet at J36 (M6). Full details closer to the time. 8. Meet to share lifts at: Arrange your own. 9. Restrictions: Unfortunately I'll have to limit this trip to those I've paddled with before, as we'll need a strong team that knows each other for these rivers. If you really want to come along, but haven't paddled with me before, please message me on WhatsApp before signing up and we'll arrange to get out sometime in advance. 10. Planning to camp this year (or sleep in van), but you're welcome to arrange your own B&B accommodation if camping isn't for you. I'll be picking a campsite once the trip is full and sending round details. I'll book for anyone who wants a spot. If you later pull out of the trip, you may still have to pay for your camping if you can't find someone to take your place. Please read notes re trips here: https://lakelandcanoeclub.wordpress.com/trips/ I am happy to co-ordinate and lead the trip. However, as we will be a team, we are jointly responsible for each other’s safety on the water. Please ensure you carry the correct kit for the trip you are attending. RSVP as soon as possible please. Attendees will be added to a WhatsApp group for the event. Please check WhatsApp and the calendar to confirm all details. Sorry, no guests on this one.
