Date: Friday 2/4/2021 20.00 p.m. 6. Venue :Tranquil sea!!!! Windermere 7. Meet location / time : Water head car park Ambleside. Meet to share lifts at: no lift share 9. Anything else: This trip is called sea but actually on a flat lake. Forecast is to be cold and clear. Forecast 6oC so wrap up warm. Hopefully it will be dark and we can get good views of the stars so bring binoculars. Bring head torch.   2. Mike H will be co-ordinating a zoom meeting. It is aimed at those who lead or co-ordinate river trips at any level. Though anyone is welcome to take part. The session will consist of a discussion about various scenarios that have or may occur. We hope to share thoughts and intend that it will raise awareness and act as a pre-empt if the scenario is encountered. The zoom meeting will be scheduled for 8 p.m. on Wednesday 6th January. If you wish to take part please send Mike an email.

    From 31st December 2020 LCC has had to suspend the club calendar. This is due to local restrictions for Covid being being tier 4. Currently there is no end date announced You can still exercise with one other person. If you chose to paddle please do so well within your ability level and we advise against lift sharing. The situation will be kept under reviewed, we will remove this restriction as soon as we can. Please refrain from adding new events to the calendar until the situation become clear.

Date: Sunday 27th December 6. Venue : TBC Sunday morning at 8.30 7. Meet location / time : Plan A. meet will be 10.00 but could be 9.30 or 11.00 depending on water level. 8. Level of ability : Some simple grade 2 water skills needed so improver or better 3. Date: Thursday 17th December 4. Venue : Devil's Bridge. Kirkby Lonsdale 5. Meet location / time : 13.00 a.m. 6. Meet to share lifts at: No lift share as this is park and do venue 7. Anything else: Need at least four participants plus leader. We will be practicing skills pertinent to rescue of a kayak and paddle. It will not require any swimming. you will have the opportunity to try at least 3 rescues. The session should last no longer than 2.5 hours. If you have 2 kayaks bring them both with you, one to paddle, one to rescue. River rescue skills to include Review of buoyancy in a river kayak I can recover a floating kayak and paddle. I can assist another when recovering a floating kayak and paddle. I carry kit for intermediate paddle and know when and how to use it- please look the list up on the white water safety page, and bring them with you.   10. 25th Nov. The event is full. We expecting max group size of 6 after Covid lockdown. There is a second session on 20th lead by Dave Gray. It seems there is demand so we may well be repeating this event in the new year.

    Following the government announcement on 1st October we will be in period of lockdown from Thursday 4th November to Wednesday 2nd December. During this time LCC will not be able to hold any club events due to the limitation on mixing and limitation numbers meeting being 2. As a result all calendar events are cancelled between these dates. Please do not schedule any new events before 3rd December. Events already posted will be rescheduled or withdrawn as the event co-ordinator deems appropriate. Please bear in mind that after 3rd December the lockdown may be extended or a phased return to current activity may be in place.
