    Looks like the Kent, from Staveley downwards. Meet in Staveley Mill yard about 9:30.

    Four of us ran the Kent from just above Brian’s house down to Burneside. Levels were a bit low, but all runnable, and more fun than watching TV....? Second session was cancelled due to a lack of rain!

    This will be a short trip on an easier WW River in the Central Lakes, (e.g. Rothay, Brathay, Kent). Aimed at those who’d like to try River Running. Please RSVP if you’d like to attend, or speak to Mike Hayward or Phil Clayton

    The idea is to meet in the Central Lakes, after 5pm, for a quick river run or skills/play session. If interested, please speak to Phil Clayton or John Hooson to agree a start point!

    We have sold 70 tickets already, but keen to sellout the event; if you haven’t bought some tickets already, please do so; it’s a family friendly events, and suitable for non-paddlers who have an interest in the outdoors, so not just for hard-core LCC members.

Suitable for open canoes and sea kayaks, ( some sections of grade 2 water on the Dee), but probably not whitewater boats. Trip co-ordinator Mike Hayward N.B. Date is flexible and subject to change, depending upon weather and people’s preferences.

    LCC are sponsoring the 2018 Paddling Film Festival in Kendal, supported by the Kendal Mountain Film Festival and Cumbria Canoeists. The Festival will be an evening of paddling related films from around the world, designed to recruit new members for us and paddlesport more generally. It will be held at the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal. Tickets will go on sale via the Brewery once the details are confirmed; make a note in your diary and watch this space for developments! Club members who want to get directly involved in the event, please speak to Bob Gibbs, Mike Hayward or Phil Clayton.

Aimed at Intermediate paddlers. Ideally, the River Greta, but may be the Eden, Eamont or Lowther if levels are low. (This is the third time in 2018 we’ve tried to run the Greta; here’s hoping for rain). Aimed at Intermediate paddlers, so ideally the Border Esk, (Grade3), with a variety of other Scottish border rivers as back up...or the Eden, again! (E.g. the Nith, Water of Deuch or Border Esk) If there is water, we may try and do two rivers, as it’s a long drive Aimed at Intermediate paddlers, so happy on Grade 3 We have four confirmed paddlers, and one maybe; as always, rainfall will decide whether it’s feasible.     Sea kayak St Bees to Whitehaven, and return 2. Tuesday 17th April 3. Starting --- On the water at 10:30am 4. Meet GR961117 (Lifeboat Station) at 10am 5. Trip leader: Peer-led. This is not an official LCC Trip, there will be no guiding or coaching available. 6. Any special notes: Sea kayaks only. This is an exposed section of coast, with only one good landing, so come prepared. Highly weather dependent; we won’t be going out If above Force 3
