Please note this is NOT an official LCC event, there will be no formal leadership or coaching - just a few paddlers enjoying the water. River paddle - park and play on the Lune River tbc depending upon water levels and weather forecast, but this section is grade 2/3. ( If you have a particular river/section you'd like to paddle, please text the trip co-ordinator). Details tbc no later than 7pm the night before. Meeting point Killington Road Bridge Trip co-ordinator Phil Clayton 0785 0202405.
  2. Mike Sunderland will run a "park and play" or river run session* (*depending upon water levels, and the preferences of the group). Mike is a level 5 coach and will provide leadership and coaching as required. Meet at Killington Road Bridge on the Lune at 10am. Please RSVP if you'd like to attend. Any questions, please contact me on phil.clayton@aventicaconsulting.co.uk or text 0785 0202405

South Cumbria Rivers Trust are organising a litter pick on the river Kent on Wednesday. This is a part of "The Great River Rescue" campaign running across the UK, and they've invited us to take part. Your chance to contribute something, and maybe make friends with some fisherman! If you'd like to contribute, then just turn up at 13:30pm at Gooseholme. We don't have much other information, but if you want to know more, please see the theriverstrust.org website, or email jayne@scrt.co.uk
  4. I'm proposing a Sea trip, Ravenglass up the River Irt, Saturday 9th of September. HW Liverpool is 12:53, plus one hour for BST, and the guidebook suggests launching 2 hours before that, so on the water for 11:53am at Ravenglass. Paddle for 2 hours past Muncaster Castle towards Hinning Bridge, turnaround at high tide and come back to avoid grounding.(Lunch and coffee stops will no doubt be possible...) Note this is not an offical club trip; there will be no formal leadership or coaching on offer, just a few friends looking out for each other. Please RSVP if you'd like to come, and check on Friday evening that the trip's still on. Phil
  5. I'm planning to do a trip on the Kent* with some people from Cumbria Canoeists. If anyone would like to join us, please call me on 0785 0202405 and we'll agree logistics. Please note this is NOT a formal club trip; there will be no coaching/training or safety cover. *Given the time of year, this is heavily dependant upon water levels, (!), and other options may be pursued... Phil
  6. I'm planning to do a short afternoon trip on the Lune with John Wright. If anyone would like to join us, please call me on 0785 0202405 and we'll agree logistics. Please note this is NOT a formal club trip; there will be no coaching/training or safety cover. Phil
