  1. This is a placeholder for the new season’s Midweek Paddling. For those new to this, a reminder of how it works! 1 Sessions are open to both LCC members and guests. 2 These are peer-led events; there is no formal leadership*, so each paddler needs to decide whether they have the skills and experience for a particular trip. If in doubt, please speak to the Midweek Co-ordinator, Phil Clayton, or Mike Hayward. 3 The choice of which river to run, and the grade, will depend upon what rivers are “up”, and who wants to paddle; we try to offer trips for beginners, intromediates, intermediates and advanced paddlers. 4 Trips are weather dependent and may be cancelled or changed at very short notice. For this reason, you are strongly advised to join the Midweek Paddling group on WhatsApp. Simply download WhatsApp to your phone, and provide Phil Clayton with your name and mobile number. (0785 0202405). We will add you to the group and then use the App to ensure everyone knows what’s happening, and where to meet, ideally the night before, or first thing on the morning of a trip. *Some trips WILL have a formal leader, and may offer training and coaching. These will be clearly identified as such, with the Leader’s name and contact details.

Unfortunately Mike Sunderland is double booked and can't lead this trip. Given that we have 4 experienced paddlers signed up, this shouldn't make any practical difference Please feel free to continue with this as a "peer-led" trip.

This trip is designed for improving WW paddlers, rather than beginners. The session will be led by Mike Sunderland If you are not clear about this, please speak to the Midweek trip co-ordinator, Phil Clayton, on 0785 0202405. How to get involved in Midweek paddling; 1 Let the trip co-ordinator know you are interested, giving your email address and mobile phone number 2 Ensure you have WhatsApp on your phone*! 3 On the morning of the trip, there will be a WhatsApp call to agree which river, and a meeting point. The choice of river will depend upon water levels, and also the skills of those wanting to paddle on that day, but typically it will be a grade 1/2 River in the North West. 4 Depending upon river levels, additional trips may run on other days of the week; sadly we can’t control when or where the rain falls. These short notice trips are also communicated via WhatsApp. N.B. #1 Grades of difficulty are subjective, and heavily dependant upon water levels and weather conditions on the day; you need to make your own decision on whether to paddle on any given trip N.B.#2 *If you can’t get WhatsApp, (for example because you don’t use a Smartphone), we will try to contact you by text, but please be aware this is not always possible.
