This is three individual day trips in the usually sheltered beautiful Firth of Clyde at Largs.  Options for paddling depending on weather include:
    -        coastal paddling south past the old sea plane hanger, the defunct coal depot to Hunterston. Or north to the famous Wemyss Bay station stopping for an ice cream at Nardinis in Largs,
    -        paddle down to Horse Isle near Ardrossan from Seamill or Portencross to see the nature reserve,
    -        circumnavigation of Wee Cumbrae from Portencross Castle or Fairlie. This involves a 1.5 km crossing. We can visit the old lighthouse and experience magnificent views over to Arran and the Cowal peninsula
    -        circumnavigation of Big Cumbrae from Largs Marina. This involves a 1.5 km crossing followed by 15km round. A visit to the seaside town of Millport is a must.  Porpoises, common seals and Kylie the dolphin likely to be seen,
We’ll be centre based at campsite near Largs, by Largs Marina.

The plan is to circumnavigate Isle of Bute, Argyll, in 3.5 days (10 to 12 miles a day with lots of get outs) in usually sheltered water.
The trip is suitable for Improvers, because we'll avoid crossing the Clyde, by starting at the north end of Bute. I will select direction and distances depending on weather and tide. Also if windy we may select a different route, as it can get quite bumpy in the south of Glen Callum.   There will be opportunities to explore Bute and Inchmarnock by foot and also paddle further into the sea lochs.   Wildlife, scenery and beaches are spectacular - lots of variety.  I know of several perfect wild campsites plus the kayakers campsite in the North. We may visit a couple of my favourite cafes too!   Check out Roddy's kayaking guide to Bute. https://www.ukseakayakguidebook.co.uk/Bute Guide V1 .pdf   Aim is to meet at Colintraive ferry by about 1pm, park cars on Bute by ferry, and then we're off! We should finish mid afternoon on Sunday 19th.   If we get another Leader we'll add a couple of spaces. 1. Event co-ordinator Annette Morris
    2. Trip Leaders: Annette Morris and John Soady.
