    Hi Mike, I don't roll yet, going to the pool on Monday to progress towards rolling, however I have capsized and swam in a surf some way out from the beach. This is a skill I am keen to develop to build on the on the paddles I have done this year, both with Lakeland Canoe Club and Cumbria Canoeists Cheers George

    Hi Sally, I will be at Killington tomorrow night, however I am not sure if I will be required to assist Mike S as I am assisting on Saturday at Roa Island. I will play it by ear tomorrow evening. Thanks for the Broads trip it was great, something a bit different. Cheers George

    Thanks Pete, I look forward to rolling, probably some sessions on open water as well is not a bad idea as its more realistic, especially with all the gear one has on open water. Sten's rescue sessions on open water are popular. Cheers George

    What a great initiative. Hopefully this will result in rolling out the opportunity for rolling sessions for club members who wish to develop this important skill. I look forward to seeing some sessions on the calendar. Dedicated sessions would be good and an opportunity should be provided as wide as possible, one session per paddler initially to avoid a paddler booking multiple sessions, until the need is met. Pun intended! Cheers George

    Hi Nicola, thank you, I am sharing with Michael tomorrow. However nothing at the moment for Friday, I would be more than happy to car share, stopping of at Penrith wouldn't be a problem as it's on route and a later start. We could WhatsApp directly to make arrangements. Cheers George

    Thanks Robin for organising this course. I would be happy to do this course. I was a First Aider at work for many years with regular training however it is some time since my last training and never outdoor specific, the practices used are constantly being reviewed. Please may I be a first reserve in the event the course was opened up to the members. Thanks, cheers, George

    Sorry Robin, I was pleased to get on this paddle, car is loaded ready to go unfortunately as the morning has progressed I am feeling worse I don't wish to become a liability so have removed myself. Can't seem to shake of this horrible cold. Cheers George

    I am still suffering from a severe cold, it's looking unlikely I will be fit enough for tomorrow, nor do I wish to pass it on it's one of the worst colds I have had. Was really looking forward to developing these skills. Thanks Mike, it would be good if this event was repeated. There is obviously a good demand. Cheers George
