  1. carpark or roadside. Will start paddle from the shore by the carpark at 10.00am A morning sea kayak trip from the Brown Howe carpark or nearby roadside. Anti-clockwise with a stop for lunch at the Bluebird cafe at Coniston lakeside. 1. Event co-ordinator. John Speakman 2. Trip Leader. John Speakman 3. Trip Type. Flat Water. (Sea kayak or touring kayak) 4. Level of ability. Beginner-any. 5. Date Friday 1st December 6. Venue. Coniston Water 7. Meet. The roadside by the lake at Brown Howe, or pay & display carpark. SW end of Coniston. Meet 9.30 for 10.00am start. 8. No shuttles required. Back at start by 3.30pm 9. Trip will go ahead if weather is suitable for the skills level of members signed on. Please read LCC trip notes on club website. I am happy to co-ordinate and lead the trip. However, as we will be a team, we are jointly responsible for each others safety on the water. Please ensure you carry the correct kit for the trip. RSVP at least 2 days before the date of the event.

  6. River Safety Practice before the river paddling season gets underway. Devils Bridge, Kirkby Lonsdale. Organiser : John Speakman River Leader. Tim Mather An opportunity for new and old river runners to practice safely skills. eg. Exit capsized kayak and swim with boat and paddle to the bank. Trowline practice, active swimming practice. Recover kayak and paddle. Riverside discussion followed by practice in the river. Club kit will be provided for new river runners. 10.00 start on the river bank.
  7. A canal paddle from Bolton le Sands to the Waterwitch pub in Lancaster and return. 7 miles each way. Improvers+. Sea Kayak 1. Event co-ordination: John Speakman 2. Trip Leader: John Speakman 3. Trip Type: Canal 4. Level of ability: improver Sea Kayak 5. Date. Friday 8th November 6. Venue. Lancaster canal 7. Meet 9.30am. Large lay-by at canal side 1 mile south of Carnforth on the A6. 8. Anything else; It could be a cold day so bring warm gear just in case. Flask and refreshment but we may have lunch at the Waterwitch pub. Two hour paddle to centre of Lancaster for lunch then return to cars by 3pm. 9. Good to share lifts if possible.   8. A night paddle on Windermere under the full moon. From Waterhead carpark in Ambleside. Meet at 7.00pm, on the lake for 7.30pm. 1. Event co-ordination: John Speakman 2. Trip Leader: John Speakman 3. Trip Type: Lake 4. Level of ability: improver, in any boat (no SUP) 5. Date. Thursday 17th October 6. Venue. Windermere 7. Meet 7.00 pm carpark at Waterhead north end of Windermere. Paddle plan will be agreed on the evening depending on visibility. 8. Anything else; Could be very cold, dress warm, bring Head torches and wear something reflective.
