The basic plan is to drive to Central France and paddle the Allier river on a 4/5 day trip probably wild camping. Monday 26th June to 30th
Then move on to Dordogne for a second 5 day trip Sunday July 2nd to Thursday 6th.
Basically, a holiday with lots of paddling rather than a long extended canoe trip.
If you are interested contact Mike Hayward asap it may be possible for 1 or 2 to kayak

1. Trip type: Coastal trip
2. Level of ability : Advanced or confident intermediate
3. Date: Paddling Sat 8th & Sun 9th July
4. Venue: Campsite to be confirmed.
5. Meet location / time : Meet either at the campsite (night before) or put-in which will be confirmed/discussed by WhatsApp
6. Meet to share lifts at: Arrange your own lift-shares. Use of the trip specific WhatsApp group may be helpful for this

The main aim is to round Flamborough Head, Bempton Cliffs, continuing to Filey. The other day will likely be a coastal trip locally, possibly continuing north from Filey to Scarborough, although to be decided based on weather / sea state & group preferences. All plans are subject to an assessment of the conditions at the time of paddling and may change as a result. I'm hoping to spend some time exploring the caves if swell & tide conditions allow.
Some sea kayak surfing may feature during one or both of the days depending on conditions
Parts of this trip will be quite committing due to the lack of landing opportunities along the high cliffs which extend for several km either side of the Flamborough headland. The headland is exposed to wind and swell from most directions. Once beyond the cliffs the beaches may be subject to surf which could make landing a challenge. A sea kayak trip from the Longlands Pub at Tewitfield to the Canal Turn Pub at Carnforth
BRING WHEELS IF YOU HAVE THEM 100M CARRY to put-in.
About 1.5hours each with a stop for coffee at Carnforth.

6. Venue. Lancaster canal.
7. Meet. The road at the side of the Longlands Inn carpark. Tewitfield. North from Carnforth on A6070 Burton Rd. Meet 10.00 on water at 10.30
8. No shuttles required. Back at start by 2pm.
