Meet 7.45 a.m. ready to be on water by 8.00a.m. Estimated trip duration 3.5 hours on the water. 5. Trip leader: Mike Hayward 6. Any special notes: Tidal height is 10.04m with HW at 11.58 All types of closed cockpit kayaks welcome. We will paddle out into Morecambe bay, ( downstream) then be brought back by incoming tide ( downstream) bore wave is expected. Depending on channel depths you may need to drag your boats for a short distance if channel are shallow. We will paddle out into the bay and meet the bore wave. Very good chance of getting a surfable wave. We will finish back at Arnside at 11.00 approximately. Those intending to ride the bore wave wave should be confident in their roll. Otherwise be prepared to sit behind the wave and follow it in. Not suitable for novices. If conditions are suiatble we may continue up the Estuary which will mean a later finish.     Sea kayaking trip A journey likely to be on west Coast of Scotland, including camping overnight. Initial thoughts are the Mull of Kintyre, but this may change if weather i snot suitable. Maximum group is 6. Mike H Brian C Sten and Angela S are attending 2 spaces left

    1. Long Sea kayak weekend 2. Aug 6-8. Travel up Friday 5th. Return Monday 8th after paddling 3. Starting Arisaig Saturday 6th August 4. Will co-ordinate shared travel when group is confirmed. 5. Trip leader: Alan Ashby 6. Any special notes: maximum 4 paddlers. ( 8 if a second leader joins the trip) This weekend will be a 3 day trip out to explore and wildcamp out on the Small Isles. Exact itinerary will be weather dependent but we will be aiming at least to to get to Eigg and Muck. Suitable for sea kayakers who want a longer weekend away. Previous sea kayaking experience assumed – eg happy in moderate coastal sea conditions up to force 4 wind and associated waves conditions. No major exposed crossings or unavoidable big tide races planned – but the passages may be up to 30 kms in the day ! On the Monday the paddle will be shorter to allow people to get off in time to get back at a reasonable hour. RSVP please on first come first served basis.

If the weather is exceptional we may also have a chance of a night paddle in the Sound of Kerrara. Suitable for sea kayakers who want a weekend away. Previous sea kayaking experience assumed – eg happy in moderate coastal sea conditions up to force 4 wind and associated waves conditions.
