    A spring canal paddle from Bolton le Sands to the Tewitfield Locks 5 miles each way. Sea Kayak & Open Canoe 1. Event co-ordination: John Speakman 2. Trip Leader: John Speakman 3. Trip Type: Canal 4. Level of ability: Beginner upwards 5. Date. Wednesday 29th May 6. Venue. Lancaster canal 7. Meet 9.30am. Large lay-by at canal side 1 mile south of Carnforth on the A6. 8. Anything else; It could be a cold day so bring warm gear just in case. Flask and lunch but we may have lunch at the Longlands Hotel. Two hour paddle to Tewitfield, lunch then return. Back at start by 3pm 9. Good to share lifts if possible.     A evening paddle on Windermere. From Red Nab National Trust carpark on the NW shore of Windermere. (386-995) Meet at 7.15pm, on the lake for 7.45pm ending at 10.00pm 1. Event co-ordination: John Speakman 2. Trip Leader: John Speakman 3. Trip Type: Lake 4. Level of ability: improver, sea kayak or open canoe. Please add message if open canoe. 5. Date. Thursday 9th May 6. Venue. Windermere 7. Meet 7.15 Red Nab carpark. National Trust. (No charge) Paddle plan will be agreed on the evening depending on visibility. Ashore by 10.00pm. 8. Anything else; Could be cold, dress warm, bring Head torches and wear something reflective. Hot drink & snack.     A circumnavigation of Holy Island on Tuesday and a trip up the Tweed from Berwick on Tweed on Wednesday. Staying overnight in the Lindesfarne Hostel. Driving north from Kendal on Tuesday morning to start the trip at 12.00 from Holy island harbour. Wednesday driving to Spittal to paddle the river Tweed and back by 4pm. 1.     Organised by: John Speakman Trip Leader: Simon Lerpiniere. 1) Grasmere, Rydal Water, Windermere, Rothay & Brathay rivers. 2) Rothay from Grasmere via Rydal to end on Windermere. Grade 2 with one grade 3 upstream of Pelter Bridge. 3) Ability; Improver+ 4) Date: Sunday 10th December 5) Meet 9.30 at Waterhead carpark Ambleside. (need to pay!!) 6) Arrange lifts, shuttle to Grasmere central carpark to launch. 7) Should be enough water but may be a bit scrapey in places, possible overhanging tree problem. 😎 Exit on Windermere at Waterhead. 8)Please read notes on club website re paddler abilities. https://lakelandcanoeclub.wordpress.com/levels-of-experience/ 9) It could be very cold, so dress warm and bring hot drink & food. 10) Trip will be led by club approved leader and we will be jointly responsible for each other’s safety.
