The plan is to "finish" the Derwent 1. Trip type : Easy River (River kayaks or open boats) 2. Level of ability : Improver and above 3. Date : 21/12/2020 4. Venue : Derwent, Cockermouth to Workington, 15K - grade 1/2, egress in Workington 5. Meet location / time : 10.00am, Parking in Wakefield Carpark, Cockermouth CA13 0HR 6. Meet to share lifts at : No lift share due to Covid-19. 7. Weather : Dependant on not too much wind. The forecast at the moment (Thursday evening) isn't looking too great for Monday; Rain and 18mph headwinds 8. Anything else : Running shuttles with mitigation, so please bring your own face covering or organise your own shuttle.   3. Reluctantly this trip is CANCELLED. Current rainfall and forecast for Saturday would make this far from an Easy Rivers trip. 1. Trip type : Easy River (Open boats or river kayaks) - The plan is to explore the River Ure in a couple of trips. The first is Wensley to Masham; about 25 K of Grade 1/2 with one Grade 3 rapid (Squirrel Bank; portageable) A shorter alternative might be to stop at the bridge above Squirrel Bank (192 860). 2. Level of ability : Improver or better. 3. Date : 31/10/2020 4. Venue : Middleham Bridge 119 888, south of Leyburn. 5. Meet location / time : 10.00am 6. Meet to share lifts at : No lift share due to Covid-19. 7. Weather : We need at least a little bit of water, and not a lot of wind and no further lockdowns! 8. Anything else : Running shuttles with mitigation, so please bring your own face covering. Venue : Eden from Armathwaite to Wetherall - "A lovely and much neglected section of river through beautiful countryside with the occasional straightforward rapid to add interest" 5. Meet location / time : Meet at the Fox and Pheasant Inn, east side of Armathwaite Bridge (CA4 9PY). 10am ready to shuttle. 6. Meet to share lifts at : No lift share due to Covid-19. 7. Anything else : Running shuttles with mitigation, so please bring your own face covering or organise your own shuttle. Trip type: Easy river - River Lune from Loyn Bridge to Halton Weir - Approx. 10km Grade I/II with weir portages 2. Level of ability : Improver 3. Date: Sunday 26th July 4. Venue : Meet at Loyn Bridge (0.5 km north of Hornby village GR 581698) 5. Meet location / time : Sunday 10.30 ready to shuttle. 6. Meet to share lifts at: no lift share planned 7. Anything else: Open boats or river kayaks. Will do shuttles with mitigation as described in the earlier WhatsApp, so bring face covering or make personal arrangements. Shuttle to Halton using the A683 - (11Km) - Park in the public car park on the right GR 504 605 before the narrow Lune Bridge. Both weirs can be portaged. Egress river left after last weir portage.     Event details BE COVID AWARE Friday morning - Trip will go ahead as planned, Warmish, some sunshine, may be a little breezy. Mike Sunderland will lead this trip 1. Trip type: Easy river 2. Level of ability : Improver 3. Date: Friday 10th July, afternoon early evening. 4. Venue : Lune, Glasson to Aqueduct and back 5. Meet location / time : Glasson village car park, opposite public toilets - mind the bar! 12.30/13.00, on water for 13.30 6. Meet to share lifts at: No car sharing due to Covid 7. Anything else: Any craft 10k each way - no shuttle required 2 knot tide each way - average tide range NW breezy wind predicted - helpful one way! Warmish, sunny and dry - predicted?   8. Cumbria canoeists are running a series of easy river runs on the Lune and Eden. 2/3 hours, Grade 1/2 water. Any craft welcome. As these are Cumbria Canoeists events there is a charge of £10 for BC members, £15 for non BC members to cover insurance and trip leader expenses.   14. Mike, unfortunately I'm unable to make session 1 but would be keen to do session 2 if that would be OK - perfectly understand if that isn't a workable option. Cheers Eric
