  • Meet in National Trust car park at Glencoyne. Grid Ref: 387 189
  • Plan is to have a ‘dry’ morning - concentrating on contact towing and towing. Emphasis as much on what it is like to be towed and how you can help the person rescuing.
  • Break for lunch.
  • Afternoon to practice a deepwater rescue, emphasis again on being rescued as much as rescuing.
  • I am a small not so strong female paddler so will give techniques that help to make it easier for similar paddlers.
  • Off the water as people get cold approx 2-3pm

8. Meet to share lifts:  Always good to share lifts to save on fuel & emissions. Check the WhatsApp group nearer the km time.

9. Anything else Please bring lunch and a warm drink.

Please read notes re trips here:

Or sea trips here: https://lakelandcanoeclub.wordpress.com/trips/

The trip will be led by a BC-qualified or an LCC-approved leader/coach.  However, we will paddle as a team taking joint responsibility for each other’s safety on the water.

Hello, very late to the party, and I see that there are two reserves already, but if space becomes free I'd be very interested in this event, David Ritchie

Hi Liz, I don't own a kayak. Will you be bringing some from the club or do I need to arrange this? Many thanks.

Hi Rachel, you will need to arrange to borrow a kayak, hope that’s ok.

Liz

Hi Liz, sorry but I am going to withdraw from this event as I cannot arrange to get use of a kayak. Thanks

I'll happily take Rachel's place if other reserves can't make it. Giles

Hi Liz this is my first outing with the club, I have been out with Mike Tracy a couple of times, I now have a sea kayak.

Looking at the weather report for Saturday at the moment not looking great, may change  tomorrow.

Regards Ian Brown.
