Winter 2024 mid-wk series of events led by Mike Sunderland to develop Sea Kayak skills in moving water.

The trip will be led by a BC-qualified or an LCC-approved leader/coach.  However, we will paddle as a team taking joint responsibility for each other’s safety on the water.

Please ensure you carry the correct kit for the trip you are attending. 

Further notes:

Leaders will be coaching moving water skills and this is not just a tour. Participants will be expected to join in the skills activities as we progress down the lakes/rivers. Manoeuvres such as: Positive paddling upstream, Ferry gliding  Bow rudder,  Edging, Breaking out & Breaking into moving water, Bracing will be coached.

Hello Mike & John. This is my first trip with you. Do I need to complete a Club Med Form or similar to provide on the day? For your information have my own kit but not a radio or PLB & I'm working towards my Coastal SK Award. Do you have an address/grid ref for the 08.30 RV & the get-on/get-off, please?  I'm unfamiliar with the area. Thank you in anticipation.

Hello Mike. We'll add the RV details in due course, and there are no forms to complete. We'll ask about any medical issues at the briefing. It's a moving water skills focused paddle so won't be travelling very far.
