River Kent Clean-up

Event details

In association with British Canoeing and the Clean River Kent Campaign, we are planning a litter-pick along the banks of the Kent, with walkers on the banks, and a contingent of paddlers on the water.

This will be the third year we’ve done this, and it’s surprisingly good fun, especially if you start with a breakfast in Staveley Mill Yard, and with the possibility of lunch in the beer hall afterwards!

Details tbc but in essence;

1 Meet at Staveley village hall at 10 for a safety briefing, (Leave cars in Burneside and shuttle back up).

2 A leisurely paddle down the Kent, (Grade 1/2 ), bagging up rubbish. Alternatively, you are welcome to just walk down the river bank and enjoy the sunshine as you fill your bag.

3 Get out at Burneside, photo-opportunity, and then home.

All equipment provided, just bring your boat and paddling kit.

Organised by Natalie Thorp and Phil Clayton, so please speak to either of us if you want to know more.
