Esk Estuary from Ravenglass

Sunday 20th update. Wind forecast F2-F3 from SE and dry. Trip is confirmed. See you at Ravenglass.

Setting off from Ravenglass beach on the flooding tide and hitching a ride up the River Esk stopping for lunch probably in the vicinity of Hinning House Bridge. Then returning to Ravenglass on the ebb tide

7. Meet location / time : meet at Ravenglass car park to get changed at 10:10 http://streetmap.co.uk/map?X=308496&Y=496459&A=Y&Z=115. Then drive through the village onto the beach to unload. http://streetmap.co.uk/map?X=308420&Y=496180&A=Y&Z=115  and return the cars to the pay and display carpark. Parking costs £5.50 for the day. Aim to be on the water for 10:50

8. Meet to arrange shuttle: No shuttle but we will have to move the cars

9. Anything else: I will open the trip for people to RSVP on Monday 14th March

The aim is to have a nice leisurely and sociable paddle with a picnic. Bring a flask and a sandwich along with calm weather and sunshine.

This trip is 17km long with tidal assistance for the whole trip

This trip is weather dependant so if the forecast is unfavourable the venue may change possibly to a lake or the trip  may be cancelled. I will post the decision on here on Sunday 20th by 18:00.

Tide height is 9.38m.

HW Barrow is at 13:18 so aim to be on the water by 10:50

Should arrive back at Ravenglass to finish by 15:30 latest

I am happy to co-ordinate and lead the trip. However, as we will be a team, we are jointly responsible for each other’s safety on the water.

Please ensure you carry the correct kit for the trip you are attending.
