This event is a "Rolling Clinic" at the pool sessions on 12th Feb, 19th Feb and 26th Feb. These will be structured as a course so please only sign up here if you are attending all 3 sessions. This event is aimed at people who want to learn to roll, or to improve a non-dependable roll. The cost is 3* £9 = £27. Members only, no guests. Please pay by BACS when you sign up, to Lakeland Canoe Club, Sort Code 20 45 28, Account 80558613, Reference p12Feb24 You can use the pool boats but it would be best to bring your own, river or seakayak, and please make sure you have a good connection to it, i.e. it's suitably padded. There is a Coach the Coaches session on 5th Feb to prepare for this. At this session, we have engaged a professional coach and he suggests we review video footage from the 29th Jan skills session so if you are able to attend and willing to be videoed, please sign up for that too! By signing up here and paying £27 for the 3 sessions, you have no need to sign up separately for the 19th and 26th Feb sessions. Thanks to Alex Davies and Pete Riley for conceiving and planning. At this 12th Feb session, the rolling clinic will take place at the shallow end and Mike Hayward's Intro to River Skills will be at the deep end. We will add further places for General skills on 19th and 26th Feb once the Rolling Clinic of 6 is full. Mike P

This is a Coach the Coaches rolling session, run by professional coach Ian Adey, with thanks to Pete Riley for planning 7:15pm - Arrivals, introductions 7:30pm - 8:15pm Theory in the Lonsdale Suite 8:30pm - 10:00pm extended Pool session The objective of this session is for coaches to improve their own roll and to improve their teaching of rolling. Ideally coaches will emerge with a structured 3 week course in mind. You can use our pool boats but Ian says it's best to bring your own boat, and bring it into the Lonsdale suite. Members only, no guests. The cost is a subsidised £10. Please reserve your spot via our Calendar and pay in advance via BACS to Lakeland Canoe Club, Sort Code 20 45 28, Account 80558613, ref P5Feb24. Please note that there are rolling clinics planned at the pool sessions on 12, 19 and 26 Feb, 8:30pm to 9:30pm. It would be great if Coaches going to this event were able to apply their knowledge by helping to coach at least 2 rolling clinics, using their knowledge gained. So, when you add your name, would you please add a comment saying which February sessions you can coach at. Also, Ian has asked for video footage from the skills session on 29th Jan to be used at this session so if anyone can bring a go-pro or similar to the poolside then hopefully we can figure out how we can project it to the TV in the Lonsdale suite. Would someone kindly volunteer to film on 29th Jan in the Comments below?
