Bore hunting

8. Meet to share lifts: 08:10 at M6 junction 37, west side at the arrow on the map.

9. Anything else: We’ll meet at Metal bridge, a short carry to water, set off at 9.30. Plan is to catch the ebb down the Esk estuary, merge with the Eden estuary meet the incoming  flood tide at 11.03 and stay with it back to Metal bridge. It is high springtime so expect very fast water and large unpredictable waves maybe a bore on return.  An often successful roll is required.  Total distance around 20km.  Hopefully back at Metal bridge by 13.30

HW at Metal bridge is 13.50 estimated.

The trip will be led by a BC qualified or an LCC approved leader, however we will paddle as a team taking joint responsibility for each other’s safety on the water.

Please ensure you carry the correct kit for the trip you are attending.
