OFFICIALLY CANCELLED sue to weather conditions
Evening LCC amid-seekers
5 left out of 10 for tomorrows paddle.Thank you for your loyalty.I have been tracking the weather today, from Leeds, whilst on our weekly child care duty with Archie Michael. It seems to have got worse and worse.9pm it predicts:7.5 cm of snow from 9am til 4pm1/2 degreesWith RISING a high pressureNNW from 14-21 mphSo looks like the sensible thing to do is to CANCEL - especially with snow endangering driving. However - I will review this early in the morning, in case a Caribbean heat wave appears through the night!!!!I was looking forward to the paddle and to catch up with John S and Graeme W - so perhaps we could do this anyway - Killington Lake or Services tomorrow for coffee.Mike -
Weather looking good for Tuesday - so far!!
8mph
8degrees
8paddlersRoom for a few more.
Thanks all and looking forward to paddling with you.

let’s be rational and not get too involved with media hype.Today the Eden is dropping and heavy rain is not predicted until 8am in the morning.
15mph with stronger gusts SSE - it will mainly behind us if we start at the SANDS, central Carlisle and reduce the distance to 15K by Paddling to Rockcliff, Solway.
predications talk about temperatures raising from 4 to 10degreesC !!
Pressure is dropping dramatically as the day progresses.
I am confident the water will not be dangerously flooding.
I am confident it will rain
I am confident if we reduce the distance and paddle from the Sands Carlisle 15K to Rockcliff we will all enjoy both the “crack and paddle”, with the winds behind us for much of the journey.
if Predictions change dramatically I will cancel early in the morning.
PLEASE a bring a helmet, spare clothing and your best waterproof paddling jacket.
See you at the Sands, Carlisle for 9am tomorrow.
I will amend the website.
Mike
ps: however feel free to drop out if you desire. -
Evening Mark, Dean and Eric - the adventure sea kayak squad of LCC
Though still frozen over here this eve and Sunday, it all goes crazy on Monday with 12degrees!! and rain with light winds on Tuesday and 8degrees.
This could give us the water we need for a Tees Tour.
if we meet at Brough Clock tower at the Inn at Brough, we could drop off Eric’s car and he and I share, while Dean and Mark will be sharing any way. 8.30am in Brough.
we will stick to plan A and if water levels are low, move down towards Yarm to enter the Tees and cruise down to the Barrage, in what May feel like Caribbean weather.
please email me with your thoughts.

Lift sharing is a positive move for us all.
predictions talk about sunshine, high pressure, a light cool N/NW breeze and 4degrees - so a Woolley hat is better than a helmet.
c u all at 9.30am - Bleach Green car park - Ennerdale, CLEATOR, Cumbria, CA23 3AS (Grid Ref NY 085 153)

A REMINDER to bring a helmet, as most of the trip will be on swift moving water.
Thanks - Mike and Tom
-
Just a HELMET reminder for us all please.
the middle Derwent is a gentle river, with occasional trees across the channel and gravel banks, so we need to be vigilant and equipped with a helmet.
looking forward to the day.
Mike and Robin
PS: Chris P - will check the numbers for you - Mike
-
Wet and windy from the South.
Remember a helmet for the small clear river that joins the Buttermere to Crummock water.
Safe journey and see you all in the NT carpark - do not pay as we are just gathering here.
