  1. UPDATE THURSDAY 03 JUNE 2021, 17:15: EVENT ON. Expect to get wet - dry suit or change of clothes, or both. A trip for Improvers in sea kayaks. Wet-day skills refresh - building confidence, secure in water, able to react when technique fails. Support strokes, edging, rolling, self rescue, rescue others and towing, Walney Channel. Situational awareness and incident management. The trip is being coordinated by Rob Wilson and led by Rob Gregory. Four additional spaces are available for Improvers. Social distancing under the COVID regulations will apply. 1. Trip type : Sea paddle in the Walney Channel, launching from the ferry terminal on Roa Island 2. Level of ability : Improver and above 3. Date : Saturday 5 June 2021 4. Venue: Walney Channel, launching from Roa Island ferry terminal. Paddle to suitable location, away from traffic. 5.   2. Update Friday 28 May, 19:32: Trip on. Don't forget money for parking. A trip for Improvers in sea kayaks. A journey up the River Esk, launching at Ravenglass slipway, Grid Reference 084962. Travelling to Hinning House Bridge on the incoming tide and returning on the outgoing. If time and tide permits there may be time to explore the estuary at the confluence of the Esk with the Irt and Mire rivers. Ready to paddle 12:00, two hours before hightide at 14:10. Meet up 11:00. The trip is being coordinated by Rob Wilson and led by Tom Peacock Four additional spaces are available for Improvers. Social distancing under the COVID regulations will apply. 1.   3. A trip for Improvers in sea kayaks. The plan is to circumnavigate the Walney Channel, south of Jubilee Bridge, Barrow, launching from Jubilee Bridge (please note the starting point is a change from the original plan). The intention is to travel south on the western shore to Piel. Then travel back on the flooding tide via the service area and dock on the east side. The event is coordinated by Rob Wilson. The Rule of 6 and social distancing under the COVID regulations will apply. Thus numbers will be limited to six, including a space for a paddle leader. 1. Trip type : Launching from Jubilee Bridge, circumnavigate by sea kayak the Walney. 2. Level of ability : Improver and above 3. Date : Tuesday 18 May 2021 4. Venue: Slipway, 100 m north of Jubilee Bridge, on the west side of the Bridge. Grid reference 186 688 5. Meet location / time : 9.30am and changed and ready to paddle for 10.00am. Low tide approximately 10:46; high tide, 16:34. 6. Meet to share lifts at : No lift share. 7. Weather : Dependent on weather. 8.   4. Be Covid Aware PLAN "A" CONFIRMED (third update, 09:20 Tuesday 25 May). A trip for Improvers in sea kayaks and above. There are two plans, depending on weather and tides. Plan A: Fair weather (Force 3 of less): Travelling from Canal Foot, Ulverston to Roa Island - one way. On the water at Canal Foot for 11.15 am (High Tide Liverpool 11:29; Ulverston 11:47). HOWEVER, meet up no later than 10.00 am at Canal Foot to shuttle cars to Roa Island. Plan B: Poorer weather: trip around Leven Estuary, from Canal Foot, Ulverston. Meet up at 9.00am, on the water for 9.30 am, to catch flood tide. A decision on which Plan will be made and notified on Tuesday 25 May, 09:30. The trip is being coordinated by Rob Wilson (07455 117 352) and led by Mike Hayward. Social distancing under the COVID regulations will apply. 1. Trip type : Sea paddle in Morecambe Bay, south of the River Leven: Depending on weather, Plan A is to travel south to Roa Island, Barrow from Canal Foot, Ulverston. The alternative plan, Plan B, is to paddle up and around the estuary. 2. Level of ability : Improver and above 3. Date : Wednesday 26 May 2021 4. Venue: Ulverston, Morecambe Bay, 5. Meet location / time : Canal Foot, Ulverston LA12 9EL. Grid reference 313 775. Meet times: Plan A, 10.00 am; Plan B, 9.00 am. 6. Meet to share lifts at : Plan A will require a lift share. 7.   5. A trip for Improvers in sea kayaks. The plan is to circumnavigate the norther half of Windermere, between Ambleside and Bowness on Windermere. The first of four events coordinated by Rob Wilson. The Rule of 6 and social distancing under the COVID regulations will apply. Thus numbers will be limited to six, including a space for a paddle leader. We will meet at the slipway opposite Lakeside Carpark (owned by the Lake District National Park), Waterhead. If required, arrangements will be made on arrival to shuttle to alternative parking in Ambleside. 1. Trip type : Lake paddle - circumnavigating the northern half of Windermere in sea kayaks 2. Level of ability : Improver and above 3. Date : Tuesday 20 April 2021 4. Venue: Slipway, opposite Lakeside Carpark (Lake District National Park Carpark), Waterhead, Ambleside LA22 0ES (Grid Reference 377033) 5. Meet location / time : 9.30am and changed and ready to paddle for 10.00am 6. Meet to share lifts at : lift share only if car park is full and an alternative is required. COVID rules on social distancing will apply. 7. Weather : Dependent on wind below 10-12 miles/hour. 8.   7. Hi Dave, having paddled with John S twice this week he has pencilled in the hire of one of the Club's Pyranha Burn's, large size. I just have collect from the store. Rob
