Mike, I'll likely put on an alternative to the Leven Estuary. I'd need a bit of guidance to form a realistic plan. Rob Hitchmough and I were discussing it yesterday, so I'll likely get info off Rob. And hopefully he'll come too. Â

I can do all 3 sessions.Â
-
I'll be there as a coach for 12th, 19th and 26thÂ
-
Alex, I have arranged for Rachel to co-lead, and she will come with Martin. They will sign up as and when you open up the RSVP.
-
Nicola, I agree with John. It's all about establishing principles and good technique to start with. It's important that you fit ok in the boat though. There are at least 3 of so far offering technique stuff, so one of us should be with you checking this out.

Can I be on a waiting list for this session?
Hi Giles, 11 people replied to my original requests on WhatsApp and in the newsletter so I'm afraid you're quite a way down the queue on the 11th. It's not all bad news though, as this initiative is all about biblically "teaching a man to fish". Equiping our own people with better skills. Hopefully, there shoud be a decent improvement in the way we teach rolling. There are 8 trainee coaches, most of whom regularly attend the pool, so you can either tap into that resource or we can arrange some open water sessions before it al becomes too cold. My recollection is that you can roll fairly well?? I imagine it should be fairly easy for you to pick up better self awareness, and tweak skills to perfect your roll.Â

George, thanks for your positive comments. Like any novel initiative, we won't know how sucessful or otherwise it will be until some time has passed. There should be plenty of opportunities in the future for prospective students, both in the pool and on the water. Most of our trainee coaches are regular pool goers. I'll be monitoring it in any case, to ensure people are getting a chance. Cheers  PeteÂ

Another question Rob. Will we be based in one location? ie. do we need to carry stuff in our boats or can we leave spare clothes / kit on the bank or in the car? Ta Pete
-
Rob, which side of the bridge do you want us to park our cars? I'm assuming the west (town) side, as access with heavy boats is easier than squeezing through the ancient stone gap next to the brew van??
You say above "bring the emergency kit you would normally bring". To let you know Linda and I are novices at this! We'll be in 1 boat. We'll have helmets, 2 x throw lines, bailers, PFDs. I carry a sling and 5m tape in my PFD, and depending on what WW trip I'm on, a pin kit - just a few slings, krabs, prussik loops and pulleys.
Is there anything else specific that I should root out of my man shed?

Sorry. Accidentally booked onto both events!
-
Couldn't make the start time. 🙄
-
Sten, I have opened up a final place for you.
-
Excellent, and thanks Tom. I'll see how the replies go.Â
-
I'll let you know if anyone drops out Tom.
-
Chris. Potential for a second trip?? I'm now free. Rain due overnight tonight.
-
Ah.... Thanks John. 😄🤣 I've got a couple of months or so to plan my revenge!Â
-
Mike, is this aimed at beginners.....or anyone?
Also....yuo haven't RSVPd to it??
-
Mike, apologies. I now have a medical appointment for Weds and impractical for Linda to come alone. So regretfully we will both need to pull out.
-
Mike I've pm'd you on WhatsApp
Â
-
John, if anyone drops out, I'd like to join please.... Ta Pete
-
Mike, I've never been on the Weir before. Does it still run in low water? Currently showing 'Empty' - 0.43 at Sunday morning.Â
-
Mike...the calendar time appears to conflict?? (2130). Could you confirm please? Thanks Pete

I've had to drop out.......unfortunately (but fortunately) I have to go to Cheshire to pick up a boat. As of tomorrow I won't be boatless!!! Woooohooooo.
