Can I be on a waiting list for this session?

Hi Giles, 11 people replied to my original requests on WhatsApp and in the newsletter so I'm afraid you're quite a way down the queue on the 11th. It's not all bad news though, as this initiative is all about biblically "teaching a man to fish". Equiping our own people with better skills. Hopefully, there shoud be a decent improvement in the way we teach rolling. There are 8 trainee coaches, most of whom regularly attend the pool, so you can either tap into that resource or we can arrange some open water sessions before it al becomes too cold. My recollection is that you can roll fairly well?? I imagine it should be fairly easy for you to pick up better self awareness, and tweak skills to perfect your roll.

  2. George, thanks for your positive comments. Like any novel initiative, we won't know how sucessful or otherwise it will be until some time has passed. There should be plenty of opportunities in the future for prospective students, both in the pool and on the water. Most of our trainee coaches are regular pool goers. I'll be monitoring it in any case, to ensure people are getting a chance.  Cheers   Pete

  3. Rob, which side of the bridge do you want us to park our cars? I'm assuming the west (town) side, as access with heavy boats is easier than squeezing through the ancient stone gap next to the brew van??

You say above "bring the emergency kit you would normally bring". To let you know Linda and I are novices at this! We'll be in 1 boat. We'll have helmets, 2 x throw lines, bailers, PFDs. I carry a sling and 5m tape in my PFD, and depending on what WW trip I'm on, a pin kit - just a few slings, krabs, prussik loops and pulleys.

Is there anything else specific that I should root out of my man shed?
