    A circumnavigation of Holy Island on Tuesday and a trip up the Tweed from Berwick on Tweed on Wednesday. Staying overnight in the Lindesfarne Hostel. Driving north from Kendal on Tuesday morning to start the trip at 12.00 from Holy island harbour. Wednesday driving to Spittal to paddle the river Tweed and back by 4pm. 1.   4. A night paddle on Windermere under the full moon. From Waterhead carpark in Ambleside. Meet at 7.00pm, on the lake for 7.30pm. 1. Event co-ordination: John Speakman 2. Trip Leader: John Speakman 3. Trip Type: Lake 4. Level of ability: improver, in any boat (no SUP) 5. Date. Monday 25th March (full moon) 6. Venue. Windermere 7. Meet 7.00 pm carpark at Waterhead north end of Windermere. Paddle plan will be agreed on the evening depending on visibility. Ashore by 10.00pm. 8. Anything else; Could be cold, dress warm, bring Head torches and wear something reflective. Hot drink & snack. Large lay-by at canal side 1 mile south of Carnforth on the A6. 8. Anything else; It could be a cold day so bring warm gear just in case. Flask and refreshment but we may have lunch at the Waterwitch pub. Two hour paddle to centre of Lancaster for lunch then return to cars by 3pm. 9. Good to share lifts if possible. Grade 2 with one grade 3 upstream of Pelter Bridge. 3) Ability; Improver+ 4) Date: Sunday 10th December 5) Meet 9.30 at Waterhead carpark Ambleside. (need to pay!!) 6) Arrange lifts, shuttle to Grasmere central carpark to launch. 7) Should be enough water but may be a bit scrapey in places, possible overhanging tree problem. 😎 Exit on Windermere at Waterhead. 8)Please read notes on club website re paddler abilities. https://lakelandcanoeclub.wordpress.com/levels-of-experience/ 9) It could be very cold, so dress warm and bring hot drink & food. 10) Trip will be led by club approved leader and we will be jointly responsible for each other’s safety.   19. Hi Sally & Natalie, we are also going to an event on Sunday afternoon. I think that we should perhaps make this a bank litter pick. The river is such a short section, it’s hardly worth getting all geared up to paddle. A walk along the bank will avoid shuttles and getting boats on and off.

    Dave, fine to bring your Seakayak, bring it to the side door into the pool to the right of the main entrance. 8.15 and others will help you take it in. Nice and clean!!

  22. Trip cancelled due to adverse Windy and Wet weather. Will rearrange in January sunshine. Forecast not looking good for Wednesday. Rain and wind up to Force 8.   24. Weather looks good for tomorrow but will be COLD. 9.30am meeting at the large Fellfoot carpark nearest to the exit. Trolley down to lakeside. we can share trolleys if you don’t have one. A circuit of the southern half of Windermere. From Fell Foot National Trust carpark. North along the east side of the lake as far as the Boat Museum for lunch break and coffee. Return along the west side of the lake to Fell Foot. 12km each way. Back at car park by 3.30pm. Or lunch at the cafe at W. ferry stop if conditions are not great.. parking free for NT members, so car share with a member. Park at the farthest parking area at southern part of fell foot then trolley boats to the lakeside. 1. Event co-ordination: John Speakman 2. Trip Leader: John Speakman 3. Trip Type: Lake 4. Bring lunch and drink, we will have a lunch break at the Boat Museum cafe or Joey’s cafe at ferry stop W. 9. Good to share lifts if possible. 10. Warm gear, dry suit or good separates. Carry spare clothing in boat if not wearing a dry suit. 11. Weather conditions may affect level of paddler’s acceptable on the trip.
