For intermediate paddlers : whilst this is not intended to be an advanced trip, I need trip members to be comfortable if the conditions turn rough, windy or both! We will likely be paddling stretches without shelter from the Atlantic , up to 25km per day for a number of consecutive days . Be prepared and equipped to wild camp for 3-4 nights .
Plan A is to go to the far north west, north of Torridon , to visit the gems. Options are : Loch Laxford, Handa Island, Edrachillis Bay, Point of Stoer, LochInver, Summer Isles and various options on Wester Ross including Gruinard Island where we can catch a dose of anthrax !
Plan B (if the weather doesn't behave) will be any other decent Scottish location
Trip Leaders : Pete Riley and Mike Hayward
Event Coordinator : Nicola Hartley
Trip Type : Sea kayak
Level of ability : Intermediate
Dates : Travel up Monday 9th, return home Saturday 14th September , keeping Sunday 15th Sept free in case required for weather reasons
Transport : to be sorted out amongst the team
As always, we will paddle as a team, taking joint responsibility for each other's safety on the water .
Please read notes on levels of experience via this link and contact Pete if you would like to discuss .
