Low Water Skills & Techniques - Park and Play - Or a small Shuttle on the Leven

Event details

Decision made by popular demand! Halton Rapids at 1030

I'll be out in my boat, revisiting skills after being laid off for a while! Come and join me. Just come and goof around, like I'll be doing - alternatively I'll be happy to give pointers and pass on some of the learning I have acquired. It's up to you. Whilst I have stipulated 'Intermediate', I'm aware that some of the improvers group have advanced well and may be suitable for this trip. Particularly as the water levels will be fairly benign. Please contact me if in doubt.

I have deliberately kept the RSVP small and tight so we're not getting under each other's feet on the waves. I would be happy to expand if more leaders join.

There will be no more rain so I'll choose either Halton or the Leven nearer the time.

  1. Event co-ordinator & leader: Pete Riley
  2. Trip type: Park & Play - or a short section of the Leven.
  3. Level of ability: Intermediate and above (or well progressed improver).
  4. Date: Weds Feb 8th.
  5. Venue: TBC the night before: will confirm via WhatsApp to attendees.
  6. Meet location / time: 10:30 am
  7. Meet to share lifts at: TBC
  8. Anything else: Bring snacks/lunch/hot flask.

I am happy to co-ordinate and lead the trip. However, as we will be a team we are jointly responsible for each other’s safety on the water.

Please ensure you carry the correct kit. Note: Dry suits only please - in summer it might be possible to manage without a dry suit, but in winter an early dip has more severe consequences for the individual concerned and the rest of the group.

*RSVP initially set at 4 paddlers.

Club members only. No guests, sorry.

*If you are interested but RSVP limit is reached, please contact me on WhatsApp
