Solstice sojourn (night paddle)

A night paddle on Windermere  forecast  is force 4 gusting 6, so meet at Ambleside car park by lake, we will go south to north.

4. Level of ability: any ability in any boat, no SUP

5. Date: Wednesday 21st December - the shortest day

6. Venue : Windermere

7. Meet location / time: 6.00 p.m. at Water head, Ambleside.

8. Meet to share lifts at: Waterhead, we will shuttle to Millerground.

9. Anything else: 

We will leave some vehicles at Millerground lay-by. Then drive Ambleside. Then paddle back to Millerground, 6km about 1-1.5 hours.  

Likely visit a local hostelry afterwards.

It will be very cold, so dress warm and bring. head torch and wear something reflective.

I am happy to coordinate and lead the trip. However, as we will be a team, we are jointly responsible for each other’s safety on the water.
