The trip will use the tide to reach as far up the river as possible before it turns, usually this will mean reaching the bridge at St Michaels on Wyre. It is long paddle 48Kms (24Kms each way) and although tide assisted will take 4.5-to-5-hour, so paddlers should have a good level of fitness.
Tide height is 9.33M so it will be running fairly swiftly at the mouth of the river and around some obstacles, with the potential for rough water in places
Sea kayaks only.
Meet at Knott End car park OS NGR SD 34642 48420 at 09:00 and aim to be on the water no later than 09.45. (which is 2.5 hours before high tide)
Bring food and drink as we will stop for lunch and comfort breaks
