Event co-ordinator & leader – Pete Riley Trip type: Sea Level of ability: Intermediate / Advanced Date: Saturday 13th May to Saturday 20th May. Travelling up on the Saturday. Venue: Plan A – Cape Wrath. Initially due to go open boating in Sweden, the plan has changed radically! The broad plan is to travel to the far NW of Scotland and do predominantly day trips, but we might also do overnight stops so be prepared for 2 or 3 nights camping wild.
Plan A is to round Cape Wrath, which can be done in a day, however it lends itself to a longer trip. There are plenty more tasty options in the far north, which we will choose as weather conditions permit. Plan B will be to find an alternative weather system if the far North weather isn’t kind.
Whilst we will potentially be operating in ‘Advanced’ territory, we will only set sail if there is good assurance of calm, so this trip may suit confident ‘Intermediate’ paddlers. As always, we will paddle as a team, taking joint responsibility for each other’s safety on the water.
If you are in doubt about your suitability, please give me a call.

    19 May 2023 03:00 PM      21 May 2023 08:00 PM

Advanced White Water kayak trip to the rivers Moriston, Garry and Etive up near Fort William. We'll be doing the Garry on Saturday, followed by the upper section of the Moriston (several runs).  Sunday we'll get packed up and do the Etive on the way back.
    1. Event co-ordinator: Simon Lerpiniere (07811144461)
    2. Trip Leader leader: Simon Lerpiniere (plus likely other leaders in attendance)
    3. Trip type: River
    4. Level of ability :  Advanced
    5. Date: 19/05/2023 (evening travelling) until 21/05/2023.  Paddling 20th and 21st.
    6. Venue: Fort William (or nearby), Scotland.
    7. Meet location / time: Travelling up Friday night (19th).
    8. Meet to share lifts at: We'll certainly want to arrange lift shares, so probably a meet at J36 (M6).  Full details closer to the time.
    9. Restrictions:  Unfortunately I'll have to limit this trip to those I've paddled with before, as we'll need a strong team that knows each other for these rivers.  If you really want to come along, but haven't paddled with me before, please message me on WhatsApp before signing up.
    10. Accommodation: Booked at https://campsite.faichemard.scot/.  Individual pitches.  Cost is £30 each.
    11. Notes: The Moriston is a short section, but worth paddling each little bit several times.  We'll be carrying out boats quite a bit, so be prepared to carry.  The walk all the way to the top is about 1km, but it's only 300m between sections.  We can shuttle to the very top for a final run.  The Etive will probably be low (which is how we want it really), but will require some portage around shallow sections.
