Anything else HW Rockliffe 12.57 7.6m NE Redkirk Point 13.42 at 3m We need to be clear of Esk Estuary before incoming tide arrives and then take the tide up to Rockliffe arriving before tide ebbs. The trip is about 26km but could be less. How can our speed, angle, edge, timing and use of body position impact the outcome? How can we look to future water to make our crossing successful? Skill: Maintaining direction How will we effectively use linked strokes to maintain direction? How can we use the water to help us maintain direction? ( start in easy eddy and build up) Skill: Changing direction breaking in and out Which river features can we use to assist us in changing direction? How will we spot and use them? Venue: Metal Bridge to Annan (Newbie) 7. Plan is to catch the ebb down the Esk estuary, merge with the Eden estuary meet the incoming flood tide at 11.03 and stay with it back to Metal bridge. It is high springtime so expect very fast water and large unpredictable waves maybe a bore on return. An often successful roll is required. Total distance around 20km. Hopefully back at Metal bridge by 13.30 HW at Metal bridge is 13.50 estimated. Sea kayaks only.   24. We will meet to discuss real and possible sea kayak incidents that a group may have to deal with. The focus will be on what role the leader may take, but all sea kayakers are welcome to attend. If you have been involved or heard of or an sea kayaking incident could you write it as succinctly as possible, anonymize individuals and email it to Mike Hayward by 23rd Feb. The trip is 16km and should take 4 hours, including a lunch break. It may be very cold so dress warm and bring a flask and lunch.
