    Evening WWSR

    until

Weather permitting it looks like we will be able to run this as planned. I will be leading the first session, with lots of support from Mike Hayward. We will focus on bank-based rescue rather than boat-based rescue, BUT YOU WILL GET WET, so please come with all your WW gear EXCEPT the kayak. Please also bring any safety or rescue equipment you possess and think is relevant, but don't buy anything else in advance. Location is very likely* to be the Lune at Devil's Bridge, Kirkby Lonsdale - the normal exit for those running the Lune. (*If this changes, I'll confirm via this page or WhatsApp). The main limitation is the shorter evenings, so please try and be on the bank ready to go by 5pm. Any questions, Phil Clayton - 0785 0202405

    Evening WWSR

    until
This is an introductory course in White Water Safety and Rescue. It will be delivered over two short evening sessions, by club members who have been through the formal BC WWSR course. The focus is on practical steps to help you stay safe on Whitewater, whether a beginner or an expert. Location tbc closer to the date, but likely to be the Leven, Lune or Kent. Please RSVP in plenty of time so we can ensure we have enough experienced people on hand. Any questions, please speak to Phil Clayton the trip co-ordinator (0785 0202405) N.B. This is a peer-led effort to help club members improve their skills. It is not a formal WWSR course, and does not lead to any qualifications.

    Midweek Paddling

This is a placeholder for the new season’s Midweek Paddling. For those new to this, a reminder of how it works! 1 Sessions are open to both LCC members and guests. 2 These are peer-led events; there is no formal leadership*, so each paddler needs to decide whether they have the skills and experience for a particular trip. If in doubt, please speak to the Midweek Co-ordinator, Phil Clayton, or Mike Hayward. 3 The choice of which river to run, and the grade, will depend upon what rivers are “up”, and who wants to paddle; we try to offer trips for beginners, intromediates, intermediates and advanced paddlers. 4 Trips are weather dependent and may be cancelled or changed at very short notice. For this reason, you are strongly advised to join the Midweek Paddling group on WhatsApp. Simply download WhatsApp to your phone, and provide Phil Clayton with your name and mobile number. (0785 0202405). We will add you to the group and then use the App to ensure everyone knows what’s happening, and where to meet, ideally the night before, or first thing on the morning of a trip. *Some trips WILL have a formal leader, and may offer training and coaching. These will be clearly identified as such, with the Leader’s name and contact details.

    Evening WW, Leven.

    until

Unfortunately Mike Sunderland is double booked and can't lead this trip. Given that we have 4 experienced paddlers signed up, this shouldn't make any practical difference Please feel free to continue with this as a "peer-led" trip.
