  1. A Club sponsored training course for river leaders. Please only sign up if you are already booked onto the course. Course provider will be Sean McGrath of Wild River. Venue to be finalised but should be in the Lakes

  4. UPDATE: Meet as planned. Dress up warm, there won't be much water but it will be calm! See you there! The river is predominantly grade 1 but may have some grade 2 sections. Not suitable for beginners. 1. Event co-ordinator: Robin Everingham 2. Trip Leader: Robin Everingham 3. Trip type: River Lune (Open boat) 4. Level of ability: Improver or better 5. Date: Friday 9th December 6. Venue: Devil’s Bridge to Loyn Bridge (between Gressingham and Hornby (about 10km) 7. Meet location / time: 9.30am, Devil’s Bridge at Kirkby Lonsdale (West side by toilets), followed by shuttle of cars to the finish. 8. Meet to share lifts at: Arrange your own to KL. 9. Anything else: Bring lunch, a hot drink and a helmet. Event subject to a suitable water level, check for the update the day before (by 5pm). You should have basic idea out how to read moving water and break in and out. RSVP limit is 6.   5. Unfortunately, trip is CANCELLED. Steady F5-6 winds forecast would make the trip hard work, especially heading out and around the South of the island. 1. Event co-ordinator: Robin Everingham 2. Trip Leader: Robin Everingham 3. Trip type: sea (sea kayaks only) 4. Level of ability : intermediate or better 5. Date: Saturday 5th November 6. Venue: Roa Island to Earnse Point 7. Meet location / time: 9.30am at Earnse Point car park 8. Meet to share lifts at: arrange your own 9. Anything else: Starting from Roa Island on the ebb, passing Piel Island, the seal sanctuary and nature reserve, then going North up the outside of Walney Island to Earnse Point. About 18 km, 4 hrs. There will be good flows at the start and probably rougher water (overfalls) off the South of Walney. HW Liverpool 0850, LW 1620. We'll transfer kit and drive to Roa Island to be on the water for 10.30am. Bring a flask and lunch. Wheels are a good idea if you have them, the tide will have gone out a long way at Earnse Point. Venue : Meet down by the water at Millerground ready for paddling. 7. Meet location / time : Park at the layby on the main road (around 6pm) at: https://www.streetmap.co.uk/map?x=340420&y=498776&z=115&sv=340420,498776&st=4&ar=Y,y&mapp=map&searchp=ids&dn=672&lm=0 and carry boat (on footpath by stream) down to the Lake to be on the water 6.30pm. Wheels are very useful here if available. Aim to get off the water around 8pm. 9. Anything else: This is a social paddle in any craft – open boat/sea kayak/river kayak (conditions allowing!).
