Event details

BE COVID AWARE

PEER   trip

Wednesday 7.50 a.m. The river is very high and may get higher. So the skill level will be intermediate for maybe advanced- Is this trip still for you? We need no swimmers.

Trees may be a more serious hazard.

No open canoes. kayaks only.

Suggest we go take a look but may not paddle.

7. Anything else:

Lots of rain forecast for Tuesday so hopefully some left on Wednesday

There is a webcam at Bainbridge. Need to be flowing across river width with no rocks showing.

trip will go ahead if river level is suitable, enough water but not spate.

We may start at Appersett  which makes the paddle 17km or at Hawes which makes 14km Paddle so paddle time will be about 4 hours.

Drive time form Kendal is about 1hour 10 minutes to egress.

River is grade 1 or 2 with rocks to avoid in places, so some experience of moving water skills is expected.

Trip and start location will be confirmed here on Wednesday morning at 8.15.a.m. DO NOT travel to the river before confirmation.

Bring lunch.
